Darren Watson: A Journey Through Jazz, Passion, and Community

Darren Watson’s musical journey began at the Alleyne School, where mentors Kevin Moore and Gary Goodridge first ignited his passion for music. Starting with the alto saxophone, Darren’s dedication and talent soon led him to the tenor sax, and eventually, the soprano sax, showcasing his versatility and deep commitment to his craft.

His studies continued at the Barbados Community College under the guidance of renowned musician Andre Woodvine and other talented tutors, further shaping his artistry.

Darren draws inspiration from world-class saxophonists and musicians such as Elan Trotman, Gerald Albright, Andre Woodvine, and, most importantly, the many talented musicians he has encountered and befriended right here in Barbados.

For Darren, music is more than just a passion—it is a way of life, a language of connection, and a means of uniting people while pushing creative boundaries. His performances embody this philosophy, offering audiences both joy and inspiration.
