Born and raised in Barbados, Elan Trotman has carved out an impressive career on the global jazz stage while staying deeply connected to his Caribbean roots. Blending the smooth sophistication of contemporary jazz with the vibrant rhythms of soca, reggae, and calypso, Elan’s signature sound embodies the essence of “island jazz.”

After relocating to the United States to pursue music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Elan quickly gained recognition as one of the most versatile and soulful saxophonists in the genre. He has since released multiple chart-topping albums, collaborated with Grammy-winning artists, and performed on some of the world’s most renowned stages.

In addition to his performance career, Elan is a professor at Berklee College of Music, where he mentors the next generation of musicians, sharing his expertise, creativity, and passion for jazz.

His talent and drive have earned him several #1 Billboard Smooth Jazz singles, solidifying his place among the greats in modern jazz.
