A Trumpet Voice of the Caribbean
With nearly two decades of professional experience, Kevyn Lynch has become one of the Caribbean’s most respected trumpet players. Known for his rich tone, precision, and discipline, Kevyn has dedicated his life to both performance and mentorship, leaving a lasting imprint on the region’s musical landscape.
Kevyn’s professional career began with the Barbados Police Service Band, where he spent 17 years honing his craft and performing at national events. His years with the band not only sharpened his technical mastery but also gave him a platform to represent Barbadian music on local and regional stages.
Over the years, Kevyn has performed alongside some of the Caribbean’s most celebrated musicians, including Dr. Nicholas Brancker, Arturo Tappin, Lowrey Worrell, Dr. Stefan Walcott, and acclaimed British saxophonist Yolanda Brown. His collaborations reflect both his versatility and his ability to seamlessly blend into diverse musical styles, from jazz and calypso to symphonic works.
Beyond the stage, Kevyn is deeply passionate about music education and mentorship. He has tutored with the Barbados Cadet Corps and the Barbados National Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he has guided and inspired young musicians to pursue excellence. For Kevyn, music is not just about performance—it’s about legacy, community, and the power of passing knowledge forward.
In recent years, Kevyn has been featured on some of the region’s biggest stages, including North Coast Jazz in Trinidad, the St. Kitts Music Festival, and CARIFESTA 15. Each appearance affirms his standing as a cultural ambassador, carrying the sound of Barbados to wider audiences while showcasing the depth of Caribbean talent.
As a performer, Kevyn remains committed to growth and exploration, always striving to perfect his sound while opening doors for those who follow. His journey reflects the balance of discipline and artistry, making him not only a master of his instrument but also a role model for young musicians across the region.
